The Story.
2007. Andreas Liebing and Dr. Mathias Petri founded StoneOne AG – a Berlin based software company focused on innovative technology and new platform business models. In 2018, they jointly developed with the University of Stuttgart the PlanQK vision: Creating an open platform and ecosystem for quantum applications.
PlanQK received substantial funding from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and gained support from other companies and scientific institutions, leading to a total investment volume of 36 million euro, making PlanQK one of the single largest quantum application research projects.
Within StoneOne, a new venture led by David Niehaus and Michael Falkenthal evolved into what is today Anaqor. This growing team guided the PlanQK project, built the underlying platform and drove quantum application expertise. Due to this success, StoneOne officially became Anaqor AG in 2023, focusing exclusively on quantum computing while continuing existing legacy business relationships.
To the present day, the PlanQK ecosystem already consists of more than 100 organizations – leading scientific institutions, small and medium-sized companies and international corporations from different industries.
And the rest is a journey into the future.
